Rock Hall Fall Fest
The first FallFest was in 1998, one year after The Mainstay itself was conceived. It has been held every Fall since, including one week after Hurricane Isabel blew through in 2003.
Attendance has built each year to now over 5000 people. FallFest is second only to the Memorial Day Chestertown “Tea Party” as a tourism draw for Kent County. Music, food and crafts fill Rock Hall's Main Street.
Bluegrass, Blues, Folk, Gospel, classic Rock and Caribbean rhythms are featured continuously on two stages. The Catonsville High School Steel Drum Band (30 drums) has performed at mid-day for many years. There is also live music inside stores, even in the aisles of the local supermarket.
Fifty craft vendors display their wares for sale. Hundreds of children visit Kid’s Kourt for face painting, games, crafts, pet displays, goat milking, pony rides… and more.
Recently, FallFest has adopted the theme "Celebrate the Oyster." Oysters on the half shell, oyster stew and fried oysters are available all day for oyster lovers. In addition, a wide variety of food is to be had from multiple vendors and local organizations.
