An afternoon of classical guitar with Spencer Artwick who studies with Julian Gray at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University where he is a recipient of the Charlie Byrd Memorial Scholarship. His program will include works by J.S. Bach, Abel Carlevaro, Leo Brouwer, and Heitor Villa-Lobos. Spencer Artwick was born in Seattle, Washington and raised in Lexington, Virginia. He discovered his love of the classical guitar at the age of fourteen and decided to pursue a career in music. Driven by a belief in the transcendent and universal nature of music, he hopes to bring the classical guitar repertoire to audiences all over the world. He is also interested in other artistic facets of society, especially classic films.
